CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE

9/23/24 Update:

Ottawa Hills Invitational

On Friday evening, September 13,  the Ottawa Hills Cross Country teams competed at the Ottawa Hills Invitational at Riverside Park. The course was in good shape, but temperatures were a little warm. The boys were up first and leading the team this week for the first time was Nik Williams who recorded a season’s best 17:07. Kelton Hoover was second in for the team running 17:20. Noah Stiltner recorded his third PR in a row dropping another 15 seconds to 17:36. Liam Bingman dropped under 19:00 minutes for the first time this season with a 18:47. Lucas Bruno also PRed for the third time this season running 19:05.1, just under last week’s time. Right behind Lucas were Sani Shema (19:08) and Diego Barnaby (19:10) who recorded a season’s best. Carson McCaleb ran 20:03 to finish eighth for the team. And the team’s final two finishers were Wyatt Jacques (20:28) and Alex DeRoo (20:49). In the boys JV race Max Yoder (20:09), Tyree Tatum (20:41) and Connor Geary (23:09) all recorded PRs, while Micah Rizkalla ran a season’s best 20:21.

 

The girls team recorded several PRs on the night. In the girls varsity race Cece Wojciakowski again led the team running a PR of 20:05 to place 28th. Enna Wainer ran a season’s best 20:16 to place 34th. Madeleine Hengeveld ran her second PR in a row with a time of 20:20. Reese Hansen was fourth in for the team in 20:28. Gwen Aupperlee ran a PR of 21:21 to round out scoring positions for the team and helped the team to an 6th place finish. Jana Kalumbula (22:03) was the teams sixth finisher and she was followed closely by a couple of big PRs from Laura Gonzalez (22:12) and Kenzie Low (22:14). Ninth in for the team was Sophie Aupperlee with a 25:33 PR and the final finisher in the varsity race was Miranda Miheve in 26:24. Amelia Fernczi was the teams lone finisher in the girls JV race in 28:30. Thalia Rodriguez started the JV race, but did not finish.
