11/19 OHHS Swimmers and Drivers qualify for MHSAA Div. 2 State Championships: Congratulations to the Ottawa Hills High School Women's Swimming & Diving Team for qualifying Dani Sadowski (200 & 500 Freestyle), Cara Pazdernik (1-Meter Diving), and all three relay teams to the MHSAA Div. 2 State Championships @ Oakland University this weekend. Dani & Cara will be joined by relay swimmers Lily Rodas, Cady Kehr, Rowen Heethuis, Abby Strand, Lilianna Austin, Ava Vohs, & Arwen Tichenor. Good luck Bengals Swimming & Diving!
10/13 OHHS SWIMMERS ATTEND MISCA: On Saturday, the Ottawa Hills Swim & Dive Team sent nine swimmers to compete at the MISCA Meet at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. Lilianna Austin, Ruby DeBlaay, Eleanor Gloege, Rowen Heethuis, Cady Kehr, Lily Rodas, Danica Sadowski, Abby Strand, & Ava Vohs. Danica Sadowski clocked a 1:57.32 in the 200 Freestyle with a new Ottawa Hills team record!! The Bengals also qualified two relays for the State Meet: the 200 Freestyle Relay (Sadowski, Rodas, Heethuis, & Kehr) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Sadowski, Rodas, Vohs, & Kehr).
This week, on Thursday, Oct. 17th, the Bengals will swim against Muskegon Mona Shores at Ottawa Hills for their Senior Night, and then co-host the Freshman/Sophomore Meet with Union at City on Saturday, Oct. 19th.
10/5 OHHS INVITATIONAL: Congratulations to the Ottawa Hills Bengals for their win at the "2024 Ottawa Hills Invitational" on Saturday. Team Scores: Ottawa Hills - 718, East Kentwood - 658, Mona Shores - 515, Thornapple Kellogg - 365, Union, 328, Hastings - 23. The Bengals 200 Medley Relay (Danica Sadowski, Lilianna Austin, Cady Kehr, & Lily Rodas) earned a MISCA Qualifying Time to start off the meet. Individual Event Winners: Eleanor Gloege - 200 Free (2:10.03), Danica Sadowski - 50 Free (26.08) & 100 Fly (1:05.26), Lily Rodas - 100 Free (59.45), & Ava Vohs - 500 Free (5:46.09). This marks the second invitational that the team has won this season, after winning the Hastings Relay Invite two weeks ago and then placing 2nd in the Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Invite last weekend.
This week, on Tuesday, the Ottawa Hills Bengals will take on Caledonia in their next home dual meet. Both teams are currently undefeated in the conference, at 4 - 0. Then on Saturday, the team will send nine athletes to Eastern Michigan University to compete at the MISCA Meet: Lilianna Austin, Ruby DeBlaay, Eleanor Gloege, Rowen Heethuis, Cady Kehr, Lily Rodas, Danica Sadowski, Abby Strand, & Ava Vohs.
